Welcome to the Paw Paw Eagles Queen of Hearts page!  This is our 3rd year doing the Queen of Hearts raffle at the club.  Our drawings are every Monday at 7pm, unless stated due to a holiday.  We have had winning pots of $76k+ and $121k+ the last two years.  These drawings and winning are open to the public and you do not need to be present to win.

HOW DOES THE QUEEN OF HEARTS RAFFLE WORK

This is a weekly raffle that progresses as long as the Queen of Hearts is not found.  54 playing cards including 2 joker cards are stuffed into numbered envelopes and kept in a locked display case visible to staff and participants at all times.  Each week one ticket with the purchaser's name and selected envelope number is drawn from the tumbler.  If the envelope chosen is opened and finds the Queen of Hearts, the winner currently gets 50% of the pot minus any consolation prizes paid out prior.  If one of the other consolation prize cards are found, the person drawn will receive a check with the winning amount.  Unless the Queen is found, the current tickets are destroyed, and new ticket sales begin all going toward the pot total.   If the Queen of Hearts is found, all envelopes will be removed, the committee will then create a new board of envelopes, and the drawings will continue as scheduled.

WHO KNOWS WHERE THE QUEEN OF HEARTS IS LOCATED?

NO ONE until the Queen of Hearts is found.  The committee made up of three people take turns shuffling, stuffing and numbering the cards and envelopes.  2 people start with the deck of cards and envelopes.  They will both shuffle the cards multiple times until they feel comfortable that they have been shuffled good enough.  At that point, they will now stuff blank envelopes, seal them and sign over the seal.  Typically, they will shuffle them once more before leaving the room and the third person enters.  At that time, the third person once again shuffles the envelopes and numbers them.  The third person now signs over the seal as well to ensure that no envelopes are tampered with.  At this point, a good guess would be the only possible way anyone knows where the Queen of Hearts or any other card is for that matter.   The committee members are not allowed to purchase tickets or play in the raffle.

WHAT DOES THE "POT" CONSIST OF?

The POT is the total amount of ticket sales before any consolation prizes have been taken out.

HOW DO YOU PLAY?

To play is simple.  

1. Buy tickets at $2 each.

2. Enter your Name and Contact Information on the Ticket

3. Select One of the Available Black Envelope Numbers and Write it on Your Ticket

4. Remove the Ticket from the Stub and Drop in the Tumbler

5. You are Now Entered for that Week's Drawing Which is Held the Following Monday, Unless Stated on the Rules of a Different Date the Next Week.

WHAT ARE THE RULES?

For a full list of rules, please see the posted rule sheets by the display board in the social quarters.  Here are the main rules that you must remember for each drawing. 

1. This is an open event to anyone to attend the drawing or participate in the raffle

2. Each ticket is $2

3. Tickets are available for sale every day the club is open up until 6:50pm on the night of the drawing.

4. You must enter your name, not a nickname or just first name, contact information and select an envelope number.  If you are present at the time of the drawing you will be asked if you would like to stay with your current selection or change to a different envelope.  If you have selected an envelope that has already been opened or did not state an envelope number on your ticket, you will be asked to select a different envelope (if you are present) or a disinterested third-party will select a different number for you.  No one except for the person on the ticket is allowed to change the chosen number or make a selection for that person during the drawing except due to the disinterested third-party rule above.

5. Tickets must be in the tumbler no later than 7:00pm the night of the drawing.  

6. NO BENDING OR FOLDING OF THE TICKETS IS ALLOWED

7. NO ADDRESS LABELS OR ADHESIVE STICKERS MAY BE USED.  Ink stamps are allowed as this does not change the size or weight of the ticket.

8. You do not have to be present to win, including the POT or one of the consolation prizes.
